Plaintiffs’ attorneys will sue a church without pause, just as they sue any other organization or corporation. Although "charitable immunity", the notion that nonprofit organizations should not be subject to liability arising from their conduct, used to provide some legal protection to churches, the concept is no longer a reality in the current legal environment in the United States.
